Tranquil views from atop The Ridge
Located some 120 metres above sea level and nestled comfortably in what many would consider the best spot in Nelson Bay, The Ridge has steadily become known as thego-to holiday home for those looking for a uniquely elevated experience.
Boasting a stunning seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, complete smart home automation, and not to mention a mineral pool, home cinema, and views of Tomaree and Yacabba Headlands, The Ridge is rethinking what a getaway can look like. Along with the addition of the team behind the concierge service for The Ridge is The Bay Butler and is a major selling point for The Ridge.
When it comes to the initial inspiration behind the build, the owner says that they wanted to build a space that would last generations. A place that would be as calming and joyful to be in now as it would in 20 years time.
“As we look forward to our family growing, it was important for us to create a central retreat where we could gather and relax that provided enough space and privacy. A place where we did not want or need to leave,” says the owner.
“An extreme amount of planning went into the layout of the build and equally as much on the external space. With such a big home it can be exceedingly daunting, so compartmentalising became critical throughout the entire project.”

The team behind the build and design itself consists of Greenbuild Constructions along with Energise electrical, Garnett Certifications, and Bliss Kitchens. The owner says Kain Bliss from Greenbuild was instrumental in bringing this vision to life.
“Kain understood what we needed and wasn’t unnerved by the task. He’s a local in the Port Stephens area, which made the decision relatively easy. We provided a description of key points with visual references and worked with Kain Bliss’ in-house architect throughout the entire build.”
“No interior designer was used, we invested countless hours gathering samples and creating mood boards to ensure the pieces worked together.”
More than just a beautiful home to stay in, The Ridge is a truly unique experience. Every facet of the build was meticulously planned to cater for those who stay there. The owners say the smart home automation system was one that took the most consideration.
“Sunrise, sunset or when the day is simply overcast, the house responds to each accordingly, from opening curtains to turning on mood lighting. Each bathroom has sensor lighting to create a comfortable experience when moving through a new space in the dark.
“In addition to this, the grand entertaining spaces allows you to move from the top deck to the pool easily, all with in-built speaker systems and integrated bar fridges. To make guests feel most comfortable during their stay, we provide a concierge service, which includes meet and greet on arrival with beverages and produce from the local area.”
The concierge service is a major selling point for the Ridge, and it’s easy to see why. When you book your stay, you’ll receive a call from the service in which they can organise just about anything to make your stay more seamless. As an example, a chef can be organised to cook your meals so you can truly unwind and relax.
